Who we are

The Dream Stuff is born out of my tree surgery in North London (Tree Work Solutions Ltd) and love for trees. It is found with an ethos of recycling the unwanted tree material, giving a chance for undesired wood pieces to come back to life, instilling meaning into every project.

In our studio, we work tirelessly and with passion to create characteristic dream stuff so that you could be proud and joyous to own and gather around our tables. Dream Stuff Studio's work embodies a unique diversity in table artistry, pattern, ranging from design that marries art, craft and sustainability, an example of beautiful nature, an elegant/bold transgression, a display of playful irreverence.

 Where it all began

Back in school days, when visiting one of my friends, I was in awe discovering that every wooden surface of the interior of the house was carved with most amazing characters, scenes, ornaments, carve doodles. That left a mark of amazement on how someone can see so much motion and emotion in a simple planed piece of wood. Also, that created a deep respect for the artistry but it would take many years before I challenged myself to play in that sandpit.

For almost two decades I have been making trees smaller or removing/killing them. Living in an urban environment that London is, it is an important process of management. It hurt me to see that the tree waste that we produce (all the tree surgeons in North London) was simply turned into compost thus releasing methane into the atmosphere, gas far more damaging than CO2.
We attempted to start a project to channel all the wood waste from tree surgery into biomass and building/carpentry material but were defrauded by Homebase and their property agents. We were destroyed but not defeated. What you see here today is the implementation of the second part of the intended project - make furniture out of some of the special pieces of trees that we salvaged from our tree work or waste processing facilities. Those years of working hard to pick up the pieces tested our patience and it was the greatest investment of time and focus. Finishing every piece makes me feel honoured to give justice to the piece of a long-gone tree and utterly happy those pieces will live long - inspiring other people whilst being a practical attribute of their everyday life.
